I really enjoyed my internship; everyone there was really friendly and welcoming. I learned more about how law firms operated, there are separate departments but they work together on big deals.
I also learned that there is a mixture of solo and teamwork involved whereas before I assumed being a solicitor was a very solitary job. I also got a chance to practice reading statutes and giving legal advice.

A round of applause to the Social Mobility Foundation! I’ve been privileged to get this amazing opportunity. If it wasn’t for the SMF I probably would have gone into Law thinking it’s a breeze.

I thought my internship was amazing. I had the chance to work with some truly inspirational people. I met many people in the time I worked at Baker and McKenzie and I saw the people that make it the world-class firm that it is.
After seeing the commitment and passion my colleagues had for their work I realised that enjoyment and satisfaction is perhaps the most important part of a career choice. I would recommend anyone who wants to learn more about being a solicitor to shadow in such a firm.

I absolutely loved my internship. I met a great bunch of people and learnt many different skills. I was fully involved during my internship and I liked the fact that I was not considered as just an intern but a part of the team.
Standard Chartered Bank also provided social events for all the interns, which were amazing and great fun. Working at Standard Chartered has given me a very different insight into the world of finance and banking and I am glad to have had this wonderful experience.

My internship was a fantastic experience, where I not only made contacts that I still have now, but gained an insight into the working world in a hospital. The people at Northwick Park Hospital were fabulous, and prepared lots of interesting things for us to do during our work experience.

I thought my internship was excellent. I learnt first aid and was taught about the different routes into medicine by means of lectures. The staff were friendly and gave me advice on how they succeeded. I experienced rounds on the ward at the A&E and gained essential work experience needed to have a successful medical application.
The internship allowed me to meet other students which have the same aspirations and we have kept in contact and pass on advice and information to each other.

I found my internship to be a great experience – learning about law from an insider’s perspective, and getting to know and talk to the lawyers was a unique opportunity for me. I always had enough interesting work to do, and being in an office with a supervisor helped me to get a feel for what working in such a law firm is about.

I thought the whole week gave an amazing insight into the world of law and the criminal justice system. I can honestly say that I learnt so much in such a short period of time and also found that my inter-personal skills had much improved by the end of the week.
The visits to court were truly amazing, but the actual witnessing of cross-examination in complex and fascinating cases eclipsed all other aspects of the week for me. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is considering Law as a career as it really does give a very accurate picture of the world of a barrister.
