Our work provides a network of support for bright young people from low-income backgrounds who otherwise don’t have the right knowledge or networks to fulfil their potential.
Last year, 92% of SMF students stated that they wouldn’t have been able to get an internship at the organisation they were placed at without the help of the SMF and over 95% of internship hosts stated that the students were of the calibre they would employ after university.
If you’re a student, by getting involved with our programme, the Aspiring Professionals Programme (APP), we’ll be able to provide you with a comprehensive set of activities to help you get where you want to be.
Professionals and firms who want to support our work will be able to see the benefits once they meet our students. Having continuous support from leading firms such as J.P. Morgan and public sector organisations including NHS Trusts, we know that year on year our students make a lasting impression that means 99% of our supporters would recommend the SMF to other employers.
Teachers and schools benefit from our support too. Over the past 6 years, 53% of SMF students have started their academic career at a Russell Group university. This is down to our tailored support throughout the UCAS application process, including Oxbridge specific advice and taking students on visits to top universities they might not otherwise have considered.
