The Social Mobility Foundation Internship programme
Key features
- Gives academic high-achievers from non-privileged backgrounds the opportunity to find out about careers with top-flight employers just before university
- Internships are made available in a range of sectors including, among others, accountancy, architecture, banking and finance, engineering, law and politics; and
- Students that have participated in the programme will benefit from being able to mention on their UCAS application an internship experience that stands out and being armed with information that will enable them to make appropriate choices for higher education and their future career.
Participants must be highly motivated students:-
- Who have achieved at least 5 A grades at GCSE or equivalent
- Currently in Year 12 and predicted to get at least one grade A and two grade Bs at A-level
- Who are in receipt of Education Maintenance Allowance or Free School Meals; and
- aged 16 to 18.
