Niquita, Wembley High School
The internship was amazing and much better than I had expected. It was an excellent course as it not only helped with finding out about the future career and work but also gave us an idea of what being a university student is like.
We also did amazing things like practice on surgical stimulators, gained clinical skills, attended lectures, did practicals, problem based learning, and also looked at different aspects of medicine such as biochemistry (by doing the ELISA assay) and also spent a lot of time at various hospitals. We also got to see an operation, and spent time shadowing a doctor so we got a feel what a day to day life of a doctor would be like.
From this I realised what it takes to be a doctor.
Niquita was an intern at MedEx at Imperial College in 2008.
