7 Cities, 6 Days, 235 Students

The Easter holiday was very busy for the students on our Aspiring Professionals Programme. We travelled the length and breadth of the country (1,940 miles!) to take students to visit some of the most prestigious universities. Our North West team were delighted to meet the Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds cohort at their launch events. Here are some of the highlights:

University of York Kicking off our tour, we headed north to the University of York. Here, students enjoyed an informative campus tour from ambassadors and ended the day with a heated debate about the meaning of success.

University of Southampton Next stop – Southampton. Our students chose from a selection of stimulating taster lectures. In Electrical Engineering, students built circuit boards from scratch. Whilst, in Astronomy, students explored the galaxy in the university’s pop-up planetarium.

University of Manchester Students from the North West and London met for the first time on our Manchester visit. The university delivered a detailed workshop on the perfect personal statement. The campus tour took us into the heart of the university’s Life Sciences laboratories and labyrinthine library.

University of Bristol Embracing the sunshine, students who visited Bristol enjoyed a tour of the university and city. A physiology practical invited them to learn about the effects of different conditions on Stan D Ardman, as well as an overview of medicine, dentistry and veterinary sciences.

University of Exeter This Easter, SMF organised its first residential university visit. The engaging Exeter staff delivered two days of insightful workshops and activities. Students made new friends and basked in the spring sunshine as they sampled university life. The visit included a practical budgeting session on student finance, a competitive campus challenge and group presentations on their ideal university. Thank you to York, Southampton, Manchester, Bristol and Exeter for hosting such fantastic visits!
